Instructions

  1. Heat the Pan & Tallow – Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add tallow to melt.
  2. Sauté the Cabbage – Once you see a wave on the surface of the melted tallow, add the sliced cabbage to the skillet, tossing it to coat it in the melted tallow.
  3. Cook Until Tender – Sauté for about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage softens and starts to caramelize at the edges. Add salt at 5 minutes in.
  4. Season – Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the cabbage. Stir well to distribute the seasonings.
  5. Serve & Enjoy! – Remove from heat and serve warm as a simple yet flavorful side dish.

Tips & Notes

  • Add a touch of acidity – A splash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice can brighten the flavors.
  • Make it spicy – Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
  • For extra depth – Toss in some sliced onions or minced garlic while sautéing.
